Show Off. vs SHOW OFF

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but they also say Flattery corrupts both the receiver and the giver...Flattery is a kind of bad money, to which our vanity gives us currency...Flattery is like chewing gum. Enjoy it but don't swallow it...If we did not flatter ourselves, the flattery of others could never harm us.

I first used my 2012 Show Off. campaign in December of last year, we even have our Show Off Challenge going right now but while riding the streetcar last week I noticed La Senza had some new ads for their Show Off Bra plastered everywhere.

Go To The Gym, Make Money

I realize that it often takes the proverbial dangling of the carrot approach to entice people to get fit.  In fact, I encourage it.

For most people the carrot represents the fit toned bodies they see in the magazines and on television.  When the new year rolls around, new year resolutions are made and gym memberships are purchased.  Typically two months into the new workout regime trips to the gym feel like trips to the dentist.

If only that carrot was dipped in gold.

Balance $57 Million

Angry consumers who sued Power Balance, the company that makes those hologram-plastered athletic bracelets, will soon be winning a whopping $57 million settlement from the company, reports TMZ.
The famous bracelets shot to popularity a few years ago and were soon spotted on the wrists of various celebs and pro-athletes. Costing about $30, the silicone jewelry featured a thin polyester film hologram that purportedly "enhanced the body's natural energy" and promoted balance in a design that was supposed to mimic Eastern philosophies.
The claims seemed dubious from the get-go, even as California-based Power Balance began to swell in size and income. The trouble started for the company back in January, when disappointed consumers first filed a federal lawsuit claiming the bracelets packed no more power than a rubber band. Josh Rodarmel, 28, and his brother Troy, who founded the company, were forced to release a statement acknowledging that the bracelets' alleged magical power had no ground in science:

Try The Tug Toner

The shake weight was a game changer in the sexually suggestive fitness device world. Since it's arrival on the scene, we've been graced with it's presence alongside other devices such as the Free Flexor (don't forget to cup the ball).  You can check out their infomercials [here]

Latenight host Jimmy Kimmel really hit the nail on the head when he took these products to spoof school. I think the workout you get from laughing would actually trump any physical exertion you would get from the product itself. Ladies and gentlemen, the Tug Toner.

So, That's How You Got Those Arms?

Forget personal training, bootcamps, gym memberships, just masturbate...whoops, sorry...Just purchase any one of these innovative exercise products.  Cha-ching!  People will buy anything.  I'm going to invent a new revolutionary fitness product.  What?  Don't know yet, but it will be new, revolutionary, save you time and get you ripped, and maybe make you smarter.  Haven't decided yet.  In the mean time I will continue to do it the long and hard way, by lifting weights, doing cardio and eating right.  For shame...

If They Work for Kim Kardashian

After having her lavish wedding [which cost a reported 14 million dollars] paid for by E! Kim K should jump on this settlement.  Kim was once a spokesperson for Reebok's toning shoe but has since crossed over and now endorses Skechers.  Smart move because Reebok was just ordered to pay $25 million in customer refunds to settle charges by the Federal Trade Commission that it falsely advertised that its "toning" shoes could measurably strengthen the muscles in the legs, thighs and butt.
